Terms of Service

What information do we collect?

When you contact MVK Law or interact with our website, we may collect personal information including your name, address, email address, phone number, and, where relevant, other details you voluntarily provide such as your date of birth or the nature of your legal inquiry. This information helps us evaluate your matter and communicate with you effectively.

How do we collect information?

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a contact form, request a consultation, or communicate with us by email, phone, or in person. We may also collect information when you engage us for legal services. In some cases, we may receive information about you from third parties, such as insurance companies, medical professionals, or legal representatives, but only with your consent or as permitted by law.

Confidentiality

MVK Law respects your privacy and handles all personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable laws. We use your information solely to provide legal services or respond to your inquiry. Submitting information through our website or contact forms does not create a solicitor-client relationship. That relationship is only established once we agree to act for you and a formal retainer is signed. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites that may be linked through our site.

Making a complaint

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled or about this policy, please contact us at office@mvklaw.ca. Describe your concern in as much detail as possible so we can review it thoroughly. We aim to respond within 15 business days; however, more complex matters may require additional time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta to file a formal complaint.
