What Happens Without a Will?
If you pass away without a Will in Alberta:
The law sets out who inherits your estate, regardless of your wishes.
A court may need to appoint someone to manage your estate.
The process can be more expensive, slower, and stressful for your family.
Estate Services After a Loved One Passes
We also provide support for families who have lost a loved one. Estate administration can be complicated, especially when emotions are high. We help executors and family members handle the legal side so they can focus on what matters most.
Our Estate Services include:
Probate Applications – Applying to court to confirm the Will and executor’s authority.
Letters of Administration – If there is no Will, we help with the process to appoint someone to manage the estate.
Executor Support – Guiding executors through their duties, including asset distribution, paying debts, and dealing with beneficiaries.
Estate Disputes – Advising and representing clients in conflicts over Wills or estate administration.
Estate Planning for Property Owners – Including transfers of real estate, and businesses.
The Process Is Simple
Consultation – We meet with you to learn about your needs.
Preparation – We draft clear, legally binding documents (or guide you through estate administration).
Signing or Filing – We ensure documents are properly signed and/or filed with the court.
Ongoing Support – We remain available for updates, advice, and questions.
